Strength training may enhance your quality of life and improve your ability to do everyday activities. Strength training can also protect your joints from injury. Building muscle also can contribute to better balance and may reduce your risk of falls. This can help you maintain independence as you age.
Olympic lifts can be used to improve strength, speed and power as well as enhance high-intensity exercise endurance, recover more quickly and handle higher amounts of training. With greater work capacity, you can do more exercise each session and reach your health and fitness goals faster.
The principle of specific adaptations to imposed demands requires that improvements are dictated by programming. And it is in the specificity of training for extreme gains in three particular lifts that full-body strength begins to thrive.
Conditioning is exercising with the goal of increasing your cardiovascular system’s performance. You’re still working muscles hard and it may feel like strength training as your weights still feel ‘heavy’, although you are using much lighter weights during exercises that you normally would use more.
Rehabilitation exercise provides pain relief, reduces inflammation, improves mood, reduces anxiety and fatigue. It also helps with balance, prevents falls and improves sleep quality. It is a muscle relaxant, helps with concentration, boosts the immune system, improves bone health and sleep!
Using a variety of muscles at one time while requiring rapid movement so its an excellent sport for increasing your cardio endurance. Getting your heart rate up not only helps you lose weight but it helps strengthen your heart, control blood pressure, and reduce the risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes.
Cross Training utilizes several modes of training to develop a specific component of fitness. Training with a different form of exercise can provide a new stimulus to the cardiovascular system, allowing for new adaptations beyond an athlete’s main sport.

Hi, I’m Mary, and I love giving people the confidence to achieve the things they want.
I was born in the US, raised in Italy, and moved to Australia in 2014. From a young age, I’ve played sports, and for 7 years, I played basketball professionally. When I got to Australia, I realised I wanted to start working as a Personal Trainer. I wanted to teach people how training at the gym can unlock many benefits.
